An obscure rarity from early Donizetti, ArkivMusics list this title as the only recording available in any format. Mark Pullinger, writing in the September 2019 Gramophone at page 105 tries to be kind and, after concluding that the budget got blown on costumes, deems the result to be, in a word, “enjoyable.” How’s that for faint praise? If you’re looking for a gift for a bel canto fan, there would be little risk of duplication.
